Detailed
Description

Pigment Red 3 affords toluidine red shade, full shades of Toluidine Red exhibit extremely light and weather fastness, but deteriorate rapidly as the pigment is reduced with white pigment. It shows insufficient fastness towards solvents but less fast to esters and ketones. PR 3 is used primarily in air drying paints, extend to rigid PVC and certain printing inks.

Application

1. Coatings: use for interior emulsion paints where light fastness is not important, and it’s used extensively in combination with Molybdate Red.

2. Inks: used primarily in flexo printing. The poor gloss limited use for offset applications.

3. Others: normal wax crayons, pastel chalks and low cost watercolors etc.
